14 weeks ago today (I thought it was only 12 -- Ahhh!) our little Schmoopy graced us with her prescence in the early afternoon after much waiting.
Today we are laying in bed, enjoying each other's company. She's happiest in the morning. If she wasn't my baby I'd call her a weirdo. Since she is my baby, though, she's not a weirdo and that's that. We'll just say she does not get her early morning moods from me.
Anyway, she's sucking on her right hand, making lots of loud smacking noises while looking up at the dangly, enticing toys on her playmat. I am laying here wishing I hadn't eaten the last of the chocolate yesterday (because I want some now) which brings me to the subject of this entry.
As of this morning I have only another 5-7 pounds to shed before I reach the weight I was at the day after we learned there was a baby on the way. I can't recall the exact number but I remember taking my first tummy picture and thinking I already had a small growth. HA - if only I had known better.
I need to up the ante on our walks and get some free weights to have in the house but other
than that, I'll slowly but surely become toned again through exercises on my yoga ball, stretching, riding, and push ups.
In other news: tomorrow Little Miss will officially be three months old. I have been getting fleeting tinges of sadness thinking of how big she is now compared to only three months ago. I suppose around the time she is half a year old I will look back at pictures from her 3rd month and think she was just a pipsqueak. That's how it goes, isn't it? Anyway, be sure to check back for her 3 month post.
One last thing - Ev is 14 weeks old yet turns 3 months tomorrow. If I count by weeks she is already 3.5 months old. I tweeted about this conundrum around the time she was turning 2 weeks old because I was so confused. Friends replied to go by the date she was born and count that way instead of counting each Thursday it has been since she was born. I suppose it makes sense that there is a discrepancy since months have a different amount of days but it still seems wrong to me. She should be 12 weeks the same day she turns 3 months but that's just because I want everything to be even and just so.
So if you are wondering why I seemingly implied she was two different ages, just reference the paragraph above.
our babies are so close in age! im following! it will be cool to watch another baby grow with kennedy :)
ReplyDeleteI had the SAME issue with the birth date thing. I was going by weeks too- like Monday was Henry's 3 month, although people said it's technically not 'til the 22nd. Um what? That's not 3 months. Sigh. I guess I'll give in though and follow that.

Tara - When I found you on TBB I was excited to see how close in age Kennedy and Ev are. Kennedy is beautiful. :)
ReplyDeleteDanielle - Okay, truth be told ... I had written something about being confused about her monthly birthday but then edited it out because I felt embarrassed. Then I saw your tweet about the same thing and didn't feel so silly anymore because I'm not the only one that was confused by it. (I also saw Jess' and Jazmyn's replies.)
