A beary special 3 month old.

Our newborn has morphed into an infant. Holy cow.

She's changed quite a bit from her second month into her third month. Within the past couple weeks she has started to let us know when we're taking too long at getting a shirt over her head; she is not fond of not being able to see.

She's drooling a ton and almost always can be seen with her hands either in her mouth or near her mouth. She's gotten better at not sticking her hand so far into her mouth that she gags. In addition to her drool she's very talented and can blow bubbles with her spit - ha. About two weeks ago I noticed she had begun to suck on her tongue; my grandmother noticed it that same week when we were skyping.

She's almost exclusively in cloth diapers now except when we go out and about. Clothing wise she is still in 0-3 month clothes but wears some 3-6 month clothes, too. They end up being too long in length (both on the top and bottom) but her diapers are pretty bulky, hence the 3-6mo sizes at times.

Tummy time has improved since we got her a mirror; some days she'll sit and look at herself or out the window for 10 or 15 minutes before she decides she's had enough. She's almost always propped up on her boppy during tummy time but I will probably try to have her be flat on the bed or floor sometime soon.

She isn't lifting herself up like she's completing a push-up yet...she can rest on her forearms and sometimes she'll get a half push-up in but she hasn't learned to unclench her fists yet while she's trying to hold herself up. I'm sure once she figures that out she'll be more sturdy.

Moms: when you do tummy time with your little one, what kind of surface do they lay on? I don't know if her playmat is too slick, if the bed is too cushy or what but it seems like she slips a lot. I'm sure it is a combination of things but I'm wondering how other babies her age seem to be faring.

She swats a lot at the toys dangling from her playmat but her favorite thing to do is grab the part of the arch that meets the playmat and move it. I bought a flimsy playmat for $20 at the Exchange so I think that's how she manages to move it around so much.

When swaddled at night she doesn't fuss as much as she previously did; she might let out a battle cry or two but then usually settles right in for a bedtime snack and some rocking. We no longer have to walk in circles around our bedroom before our time in the glider, either. That's nice.

She likes to "stand" quite a bit and then she'll do a little jig, it's pretty cute. Maybe I'll get it on video. She's facing forward / outward in the Bjorn now, which I mentioned a couple weeks ago.

She enjoys grasping our fingers or hands and then sucking on them but doesn't really grasp her rattles. If the toy is soft and cuddly she'll sometimes make an attempt to grab at it but otherwise seems to be too interested in looking around than to stop and investigate her toy. She likes licking things; the other day she licked my face. What a silly babe.
Some ways she hasn't changed: she still has man farts, makes a tell-tale noise before she spits up, stretttttttches like it is the best thing ever after being unswaddled in the morning, and is still happiest right when she wakes up.

Here's a video from today; she's "talking". It sounds more like a Evelyn-dactyl; she really enjoys being heard.

Here's an older video of her on her playmat: kicking like a maniac, batting at the toys, and moving the arch back and forth.
