Days 5 & 6 of Thankfulness.

05. I am thankful for the little kisses Evelyn randomly decides to bestow on me. My favorites are when I'm standing up, tending to something else, and she grabs my legs with both hands. Then she kisses me, along with an exaggerated "Mwuah" noise. The other morning she kissed one leg by my knee as I was getting cheerios, and then went on to kiss the other. She has such a sweet, tender heart (with a feisty, ornery streak).

06. I am thankful that I was able to vote via absentee ballot. I am thankful that Minnesota, as a state, voted "NO" on the proposed constitutional amendment which stated, "“Shall the Minnesota Constitution be amended to provide that only a union of one man and one woman shall be valid or recognized as marriage in Minnesota?” (Information courtesy of Minnesotans United for All Families) I am thankful that Obama was reelected, and I am thankful that I can share how I feel, even if others (especially close friends and family) may feel differently than I do.

Regardless of how you may feel about the outcome of the election, here are some worthwhile statements I found via Twitter that are inspiring. I don't know the original tweeters, I just happened to stumble across their statements due to some retweeting from those that I do follow.

"Don't gloat. Don't rage. Commit yourself to making things better. Work in your community. Volunteer. Donate. Do something." -poeiap

"No matter who the president is, WE are the ones that can make the most positive change in this world. Do good. Be good. Spread love." - willvastine
