12. I am thankful that there are two radio stations here (one AM, one FM) directed towards the Armed Forces. The FM station plays popular music (plus country on Sundays - which is great!), updates us on the TC-COR and whatever may be going on around base, and news from networks in the States. The AM station is National Public Radio, unless there is a typhoon, then the local AFN station takes over.
I really enjoy listening to NPR, and just today listened to neuroscientist Dr. Oliver Sacks speak about his new book, "Hallucinations". I have one of his books in iBooks (I haven't read it yet), and just picked up "An Anthropologist from Mars" when we were in the States. I enjoy being able to have the opportunity to listen to NPR, or American tunes if I feel like it.
