10. Today I am thankful that Jess' husband and Amber's husband agreed to watch all three kiddos while we went and had some time of our own...to do whatever we wanted. They were always willing to lend a hand with Evelyn when Dan was deployed, and they continue to do so, even if he is gone for just away for a little bit.
It was so nice. We drove to a random beach near Amber's house, laid out our towels (I laid on one that said "Marines", had a giant Bulldog in the middle, and then said, "Awesome". Haha. Fitting because it was the Marine Corps' Birthday today. Happy birthday, Marine Corps!), and just...laid there. We chatted some, Amber and Jess fiddled on their phones. If I would've had a blanket, I probably would've fallen asleep. I read a chapter or two of The Stranger, & then Amber's husband called. He needed coals for the grill, but Amber had the keys to the vehicle that was blocking his in. Oops. So we went to the commissary, grabbed some, and brought them to Amber's house.
We weren't ready to go back yet, though. They said to go do our own thing for three hours, and it had only been about and hour a half. We ended up at Sports Depot and then ended up back at Amber's house.
Amber and her husband are great entertainers, and it was so nice of the guys to offer to watch the kiddos. All three of us came back feeling quite refreshed.
