& we're off!

My favorite picture from our Thursday at the park.

As you read this, we are beginning our journey to the United States - just Evelyn and I. As I stated previously, Dan was supposed to come with us but due to a work snafu, he isn't able to leave until Wednesday. I am confident in my abilities traveling with a toddler though she has obviously changed from the last time we traveled. When we went to the States in December of 2011, she wasn't walking yet. When we came back in January of 2012 she was walking but it was a new-found talent, and she didn't want to do it continuously. Now she's unstoppable so that adds a new twist to our traveling adventures and I'm also no longer nursing. It was really convenient and an easy way to calm her when we traveled last time.

Our bags are packed -- plenty of goodies for Evelyn to stay busy, and a few things for me. Jammies and a pillow for Evelyn for bedtime on the plane, plus a couple spare outfits. We've got a new coloring book, a few new books, a magnetic story-book, play-doh, stickers,  a couple new learning apps for the iPad (two Little Pim apps, and a Peek-a-Zoo app), and a couple new Elmo episodes, in case all else fails. Too bad I can't pack our silverware drawer because that would keep her entertained for hours -- guaranteed. 

The next time I am able to update, we'll be in the United States. Please pray or think good thoughts for our safety while we travel and also for Dan's, when he leaves in several more days.
