Back in Okinawa.

We got into Okinawa last night around 10:30PM local time, despite being told (in flight) that we may have to divert to Kansai or Haneda if the weather wasn't ideal for flying in. On Thursday morning in the States as we were waiting for the shuttle to the airport, Dan mentioned to me that there was a typhoon in our region. I responded, "Shut up".

Once we got to Narita, there was a separate line for the flight headed to Okinawa. We were told that we may have to have one bag sent via mail and we also may end up diverted to Kansai or Haneda, as mentioned previously. I had my fingers crossed; we were all ready to be home.

Thankfully we were able to make it into Okinawa, although the flight took approximately 30 minutes longer than normal. My friend Jess (who also watched Toby) was there waiting for us and took us home. She had also went to the commissary and got us food, as our fridge was pretty barren. She is so, so sweet!

It is now 1:41AM on Sunday morning and we are all still awake. Evelyn and I "napped" from 10:30am until 9:45PM. Oops! I was so tired that I slept awhile longer until about 11:30, while Evelyn and Dan hung out. Now we're watching "National Treasure" but I wanted to update for our family members and friends who may not have Facebook (Grandma and Jackie, in particular), or for those who have not checked their email (Mom and / or Eric).

I have lots of blog posts to put up over the next few days about our time in the States. It was so much fun and was so nice to be home - we were so happy to be able to be at Elizabeth & Matt's wedding.

So, that's that. We're home, and working on getting adjusted to Okinawa time.
