The winds have picked up around these parts, and we had a slumber party on the couch last night. Evelyn initially went to sleep up in her big girl bed but I brought her down around 11pm not because the winds were bad, but because I was being cautious. Plus, I wanted her to join in on the sleepover, even though she had no idea she was joining. Ha!
This afternoon we entered "TC-COR 1C". For those of you not on island and not hearing and reading about the TC-COR system repetitively, I'll let you in on the acronym. According to the Kadena Weather page, "Destructive winds of 50 knots or greater are anticipated within 12 hours. Actual winds are 34-49 knots."
We've definitely noticed an increase in the wind and rain, but the heavy stuff is yet to come. The worst winds should be hitting us around 1800 tonight, according to one source. When you're using multiple sources for info, you are bound to get slightly different answers. Unfortunately, it'll likely be getting dark about 6, so I may not be able to photos (from the safety of my home, of course).
I have snapped a few before photos, and am working on my "during" collection. When all is said and done, I'll post some after shots as well.
