God Bless the USA.

Tonight while Dan was at class, we parked our tushes at Marek Park and waited for the fireworks that were going to be kicked off at 9PM. It was a short show and it was on the 3rd of July, not the 4th, but I was still very thankful there were were fireworks,  regardless. Fireworks and the 4th of July just go hand in hand, perfectly.

During a break between a couple sets of fireworks, I could hear some music that was being played at Marek Park, where the festival was being held. It was Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA", and I immediately got goosebumps. A chill didn't blow through the air - that song just gets to me. It reminds me that I'm proud to be an American, and all the great things I've got to see, accomplish, and be a part of simply because I live in America. It reminds me of spending summers with my aunt in Moab, and attending countless rodeos where they play that song.

It reminds me how great America is. It makes me even more thankful of the men and women who serve our country to help us stay safe, and remain free. Men like my husband, my uncles, grandfathers, and many many others who have served - it makes me ridiculously proud of them and so thankful.

I'm rambling now, I just wanted to say how thankful I am that I am an American. America isn't perfect, but there isn't anywhere else I'd rather claim as my home.
