Japanese Lesson of the Week: Week 14.


I wasn't quite sure what to share this week. It is hard for me to want to share information when there is such destruction on mainland. I read that there isn't enough fuel on mainland to run their crematoriums so people are just being buried in mass graves until it is possible to have them cremated.

Here is a series of photos featured at The Atlantic titled "Japan Earthquake: Two Weeks Later" and here is a story from CNN about a kindergarten class from one of the hardest hit areas that just graduated despite everything going on.

Here is an article from NPR about the USS Essex; the Essex is part of the 31st MEU that is based here, out of Okinawa. I listened to the report on NPR this morning on the way to the commissary.
