| Evelyn getting acquainted with her tootsies late last week. |
On Saturday afternoon we went to the BX on the AF Base to do some shopping. We got a hamper for our bedroom, a file cabinet which Dan was super excited about (seriously), and two pairs of warm jams sized 3-6mo for Little Miss. She isn't able to fully stretch out her legs in her 3mo ones anymore so it was time to buy some new ones.
Oh but before the BX - we brought the title to a car shop where we are hoping to get our back window fixed. The guy said the cheapest option would be to find whole new back door from a scrap yard but it might not be the same color. I blanched at that, thinking, "Oh my goodness, how embarrassing" but really that is just my privilege showing. At least we have a reliable car to get us places. Dan informed me shortly after that while the door may not match they can spray paint it (or whatever you do to vehicles) so it'll match the rest of our suave cream-colored Honda. Whew.
If a door isn't available it'll cost us four digits to order a new one. Eek - keep your fingers crossed that there is one in the junkyard.
Then we came home and took a family nap. It was my suggestion but I ended up staying awake and putzing on the iPad the whole time. Afterward I drug Dan along on a quick one mile walk before I went to the BX on the AF Base again to have supper with my friend Krissi.
Our usual go-to spot to eat on base is Chili's but she wasn't sure what she wanted so we switched it up. Afterward we walked around the BX but walked out without buying anything - success!
Sunday morning we went back to the AF Base to have brunch at the O-Club with Krissi. Afterward we got a number for his haircut then went upstairs (again - third time shopping in a weekend). We bought another hamper (one for downstairs) and a stumpy, white plastic hamper for Ev's clothes. We decided to save the commissary shopping for another day.
This morning we accompanied Dan to work and then took the car because I had an appointment at 8:00 at the Naval hospital. At least I thought it was at 8:00. I got there, looked at my calender on the iPad and realized it wasn't until 9:30. Ughhh - I need to get organized. No one canceled so I couldn't get in earlier so we just had to stick around.
Why didn't she just go home, you may be thinking. Well going home would've given us about anywhere between 15-35 minutes to sit and relax before I would've had to drive back again. The wide 20 minute gap is due to traffic, y'see.
We sat on a comfy couch while we passed time. I never used to be a germ-a-phobe but I couldn't stop thinking about all the different kinds of germs that were lingering on the couch. Then I had to use the restroom so I put her in this little seat they had available in the stall (kind of neat but again - germs).
She wasn't quite big enough to sit in the seat and I almost had a heart attack because she slumped forward and I thought she was going to fall out. She didn't but goodness, my heart stopped for a second. Anyway, after that scary episode I got out some baby wipes and wiped her little hands.
Eventually it was time for my appointment which coincided with a cat-nap for Ev. It was a short appointment - I think I spent more time trying to find my key in the diaper bag then anything else. We drove to the commissary afterward. She wasn't fussy one bit which made the trip go very smooth.
In about an hour we'll head Dan's way. Toby will come along for the ride and we'll go for a nice long walk until he's off work.
Dan just has two papers to write and a proctored exam to take and then he's done-zo with this class! Three cheers for him. :) I wish I could say the same for my stats class...I still have five weeks left. Boo.
Happy Monday to those of you who aren't in the future like we are. ;)
