Recap of our weekend.

Friday: Dan tricked me bt saying he had to stay late because the Jr. Marines failed their barracks inspection...less than a minute later I heard the garage port door opening. At first I was wondering, Who the heck is opening our garage? and then a lightbulb went off. It was Mr. Sneaky himself.

I can't remember what we did Friday night beyond giving Ev a bath. I think it was an early night because...

Saturday: ...Dan woke up early to get everything he had to get done before he stood duty. Little Miss and I took him then cameback home. I tried to talk to my Mom on both the MagicJack & Skype but we had to reschedule because both were being difficult.

That afternoon we went out&about. We hit up the AF base's Exchange (similar to a dept. store) first but it was a maaaadhouse. I didn't see her myself because I saw the booth and hightailed it out of there but Macy Gray (Grey?) was there for a meet&greet. That coupled with a pet giveaway outside and the Exchange was the place to be.

We walked across the street to the crafts store. It was fun to look around but I didn't buy anything as I was almot positive I could find cheaper supplies online.

We filled up with gas and then went to the nearest Marine base. I rented two discs of NCIS and Secretariat. Then we went home. The rest of the night was spent playing and watching NCIS.

I have an embarrassing confession; I am still afraid of the dark. It isn't actually the dark that scares me, just the fact that I can't see if anyone is hiding in the dark. I really need to get this under control by the time Ev is old enough to be afraid of the dark - ha. Jeez Louise. I ended up locking the three of us (Ev, Toby, and yours truly) in our bedroom but not before I checked each sliding door downstairs (there's four). One of them was open which scared me but I just locked it and continued on with my checking.

It probably didn't help that I was watching NCIS which focuses on solving murders. We'll attribute much of my fear to that, mmmkay? I am just glad I have my big lug of a guard dog.

Sunday: Drove to get Dan in the rain...came home and Skyped with my Ma while Dan filed our taxes. Enjoyed each other's company for most of the day and in the late afternoon we decided to go to base. Then Dan got a text from the platoon's SSGT saying that he wanted everyone there at 5:30...which was only an hour and a half away.

We still ended up going to base before we went up to his base, though. We grabbed food (Chinese, mmm), returned a movie to the library, and I picked up more discs of NCIS. I'm addicted, what can I say.

We drove up to Dan's base for their meeting. We returned some books to the library there and then Ev and I hung out in the car. I made up a pretty groovy song about elephants - maybe I'll share the (ridiculous) lyrics with you all sometime. Hey, whatever makes your baby happy, right? She was digging my song so I just kept a'singing.

As I am writing this I just shined my iPad into the Pack N Play that acts as her bassinet and see she got one of her arms loose from the SwaddleMe. How DOES she do that?

Monday: We went to base for lunch, Dan's weekly haircut, and grocery shopping. We had Subway and while Dan was getting his hairs cut, Little Miss had her first ride on a swing. She seemed to enjoy it though she was quite squinty from the sun. We went inside after a few minutes because I didn't have sunscreen for her, nor a hat or shades.

When we got home I did some shopping on the web while Dan alternated between doing homework, adjusting his mint.com account, and playin DoodleJump. DoodleJump is to Dan as chocolate is to Raechel; does that make it clear how crazy he is about the game?

I ordered Evelyn a jumperoo, a BPA-free teether that looks like it'll be easier to grasp than the one she has now, two new toys, and a cute pair of baby shades. I ordered her a sun hat too but cancelled the order because the company doesn't ship to FPO/APO addresses - ughhh what a pain.

For myself I ordered two bottles of Fenugreek and a new diaper bag. I was inspired to buy a cute bag after looking at many blog friend's "What's in my diaper bag?" entries they did for our journey's link-up. The one we have now is plain black and was the cheapest at the Exchange. Truth be told the diaper bag selection at any of the Exchanges on island is not anything to be excited about. Therefore I chose the cheapest, most plain bag. It works well - and I am just glad it doesn't have Winnie the Pooh on it.

The little black bag has served us well and truly there is no real reason to replace it. I would just like something a bit cuter to throw over my shoulder while we are out and about, especially since we don't go anywhere without the darn thing.

Once the bag arrives I can't wait to switch our things into it and link up to Tara's entry.

We made homemade pizza and had a movie-date night with Secretariat. I got the goosebumps multiple times during the movie; my eyes even got misty but I did my best not to let any tears fall, lest Dan see them and tease me about them.

Tuesday: In anticipation of his Dad and step-mom's arrival, Dan cleaned while the littlest lady of the household and I slept in. I Skyped with my Mom then returned the DVDs we had rented this weekend. We spent the rest of the day doing little clean-up missions around the house, looking for houses / property for sale back in the States, and homework. Correction: Dan did homework, I did not. There is a major malfunction with the college's website and online platform so I haven't been able to log in since Sunday.

Dan's Dad and step-mom were supposed to arrive tonight but the snowstorm back home cancelled tons of flights out of Minneapolis so they will be arriving tomorrow night instead.

What did you do with your weekend?
