| Cora at 21 weeks 6 days, measuring 20 weeks 6 days. |
How far along: 22 weeks 4 days
Total weight gain: Too much too soon.
Baby is the size of: A papaya! She's somewhere between 10.5in long to 11.8in, and anywhere between 12.7oz to 20.8oz.
What's going on with the babe: She can hear noise from outside the womb now, and she's sleeping between 12 and 14 hours a day. Her face is fully formed.
What's going on with the mama:
Baby is a: Confirmed at our 20 week ultrasound last Friday that she is still a girl.
Maternity clothing: Some - mostly jeans. I can still wear my normal tops but wear maternity tops sometimes.
Sleep: No complaints.
Movement: Tons! Two days or so ago I saw her from the outside, which is earlier than I remember seeing Evelyn from the outside.
Cravings/Aversions: I've been wanting a lot of chocolate recently. Also raspberry vinaigrette dressing on my salads.
Symptoms:
-Nausea at night, but that's because I've been managing on about one Zofran a day. Don't feel like wasting one for the later portion of the day. Same as last week.
-Itchy skin, especially my belly.
How this pregnancy is different than the first: I'm more active.
How the big sister was this week: She's been good. She's had a hard time with Jess being gone, and says she wants to get on an airplane, too. She's been doing a lot of painting and coloring with markers and crayons, which she loves. She played with some new friends at yoga on Monday morning, which was cute to watch.
At my "20 week" appointment on Tuesday morning, she stepped right up onto the scale when our nurse, Midori, called me back to get my weight and vitals. It was really cute - she thought the appointment was for her.
Today we had to go to the commissary and I told her she could play at the park afterward if it was not raining, and if she behaved well in the store. She behaved wonderfully in the store but as soon as we got to the car and I opened up my door, sprinkles started. Or so I thought they were sprinkles. Soon we were in a monsoon, and she was really upset that she wasn't able to go to the park. I felt bad for her.
The best moment(s) of this past week:
- Mother's Day. Dan and Evelyn really made my day special, and I enjoyed spending time with them. They gave me a Kindle Paperwhite, which has been really fun to fiddle with and read on. Now I can leave Dan's Kindle alone. :)
-Even though our ultrasound was last Friday, I'll count that in here. ;) It was fun to see her, and it was the first time Dan had saw her or heard her heartbeat (144bpm on Friday).
-My "20 week" appointment this week. We got the news that everything looks a-okay on the ultrasound pictures, which is such a blessing. Evelyn behaved so well that she got a sticker!
-Being able to message back and forth with Jess on the Facebook chat feature for at least 30 minutes this morning. They found a house!
I'm looking forward to:
- Stroller Warriors on Friday. We're doing our "bakery run" ... the run ends by a small bakery. I've never bought a treat before but I'm thinking I will on Friday.
- On Saturday, we're having a Stroller Warriors night out at a restaurant out in town.
- The rain going away...? It likely won't happen, though.
