Upcoming races.

I'm trying to get involved in as many upcoming races on island as I can, since we aren't quite sure when we are leaving. If Dan magically gets into an April school slot, we could be leaving this summer. If he isn't able to go to school until October, then we likely wouldn't be leaving until December. Since that is such a wide gap, I'm trying to fill this spring in with as many races as possible.

So far this year, I've ran the Nago 10k, and then last weekend I ran the Mardi Gras 5k at Torii Station. Running races is so much fun when you have a big support base, and you are running with your friends. Truth be told, I've never ran a race before joining Stroller Warriors but I just know that, for me, running with friends is the way to go.

Here is a list of the runs I have coming up in the next couple months. What are your fitness goals for this spring? Share with me!

March 16th - Leprechaun 5k.
March 23rd - Lord of the Tengan 10k (this was the first 10k I ever ran, last year!)
March 30th - Bushido Mud Run "10k Adventure" (I've never done a mud run....excited and nervous!)
April 7th - Ayahashi Road Race 10k (this is an "out in town" race, AKA not on base)

I haven't registered for the Leprechaun 5k yet, nor the Mud Run. Stroller Warriors has a bunch of teams doing the Bushido run, so I'm trying to squeeze in one of the groups. I'm sure there will be a few more 5ks sprinkled in there some time, it is a matter of finding them.

Actually now that I've made the list and it looks smaller than it did in my head, I'm going to go hunt for some new races to see if Stroller Warriors want to run them. A lot of Stroller Warriors are training for the Ayahashi Road Race half-marathon right now. Wahoo!

Oh, and if you'd like to do some additional reading about our awesome running club, we were featured in the on-island newspaper,  Stripes Okinawa.
