Despite not talking about it much, I am still in fact training for the Nago half marathon in the beginning of February. I have not been following my training plan to the tee, but I have managed two 10K races in the past month.
The first I decided to run was the Futenma Habu. I decided on a Monday that a few short days later (Saturday), I'd do the Futenma Habu trail. I needed four miles for my training, and knew that if I ran 3.1, I was not going to want to go back out later to do another .9.
Dan stayed home with Evelyn, and I was able to run my first 10K race without a stroller. It was so nice. I'm not sure how I would've fared pushing a stroller with the one monster hill. I probably would've wove my white flag. Of course if you don't have an option, then you push the stroller and get it over with.
I PRed (personal record) on the Futenma Habu. Of course the difference in time could've been due to not pushing a stroller. The previous two 10Ks I have done, one in April and then one right before Dan came home, I ran pushing the stroller. I ran the Futenma Habu in 1 hour, 7 minutes, and 6 seconds. I was the last Stroller Warrior across the finish line, but I was not the last 10K participant across the finish line.

At the time this is scheduled to post, I will be registering for and then proceeding to run the Jingle Bell Rock and Run 13K on the air base. I've never ran 8 miles before and it seems so much further than 6 miles but in reality, it is a measly two extra miles. I need to eventually run 8 miles (and then 9, 10, 11...and finally 13.1), so what better way to get my feet wet than to run a race with my Stroller Warriors?
