MCCS Heart Healthy 5k Fun Run.

On Saturday, my good friend Jess and I laced up our running shoes and hauled our jogging strollers out of our cars to participate in the MCCS Heart Healthy 5k Fun Run on one of the Marine bases here on island. I'm relatively new to running, and was proud of myself that I didn't stop once to walk. To some, that may not be a big deal but to me, I was pretty stoked.

We have another 5k coming up on March 10th called the "Operation Tomodachi Remembrance Run" -- all proceeds will go directly to victims of the earthquake and tsunami that happened last March on mainland.  If anyone on island happens to read this and hasn't signed up, go do so! It's $20 at the gym on the Air Force base.

Gathered in the parking lot, waiting to start. J had her eyes closed - oops.

A determined look on my face, I guess. I think I was caught mid-sentence.

Crossing the finish line. 31:26 was my "official" time...when I was completely across the line. Here, as you can see, my front wheel is across the line at 31:25.

Stroller Warriors that came out for the run.

Our "muscle" pose.

  3. Awesome! I did one while we were in stationed in Guam, and my husband pushed the stroller, so I give you props for doing it with the stroller =) I signed up for the one here on march 10th too! It's been a while since I ran, so I'm nervous lol
