Firsts: tug-of-war.

On Saturday, Evelyn and I went up to Nago with some of our friends for the first Sakura Matsuri (cherry blossom festival) of the year. The trees were just starting to bud and I got some pretty pictures (that I'll share in another post); I can't wait to take Evelyn to more festivals throughout spring and watch the blossoms progress into their full potential.

At the festival, we participated in Evelyn's first tug-of-war game. We won the first game though didn't participate in the rematch because she got quite freaked out. I think it was all the cheering and the commentary via microphone that did it for her.

Here are some pictures of the event, thanks to a friend.

  1. We walked past this, though only when kids were taking part. Wasn't it beautiful up there/everywhere on Saturday?!
