Firsts: Giddy up.

Did the suspense kill anyone? Did anyone figure out what this very special "first" occasion was when I posted the pictures Woogie took? Some readers may have already seen the photos on my Instagram, or heard about the monumental first ride on Twitter.

Others have had to wait. Until now. Be prepared to see the cutest tot on horseback in all of the USA. Evelyn's first mount was named Patches and she lives out on the farm where I kept my horse (Bailey) throughout junior high, high school, and some of college. Linda was so kind to pull Patches out to let Evelyn have her first ride on the unseasonably warm January afternoon.

I probably couldn't smile any bigger.

Thanks to my beautiful little sister for capturing this exciting day. I've told many people that this was more exciting for me than when she got her first (and still the only...) tooth. I was pretty darn excited about the tooth, so I was (and still am) over the top she got to go for a ride.
