A beary special 10 month old.

This month's pictures turned out much better than last. She is not crying in any of them so that's a plus. It is becoming increasingly harder to get her to sit still which can be seen in the pictures. I tried to appease her with Pete the Panda and a Sesame Street book but she still tried to get out of the chair. I'll be sure to share a picture of that.

I actually took these on the morning of her 10 month birthday. Unfortunately she woke up with a sniffly, runny nose. You can also see a little bit of bruising on her forehead. She doesn't wipe out a lot downstairs anymore so I'm assuming the bruising is from bonking her head on her crib at night (we don't have a bumper).

The past month has been a busy one for Evelyn. She loves to get into cupboards so I've had to be creative with how to keep them shut. She enjoys getting into the canned goods cupboard then dropping as many cans as she can on the floor. She also likes to take all the dishcloths out of our drawer.

She really likes to wave and is loves giving kisses. To me, to the characters in her books. She especially loves to kiss Jeremy Fisher the frog and Tom Kitten in her "Where's Peter?" book. It is so sweet when she gives kisses. Oh man, melts my heart.

She still enjoys Skyping with family back home. She really likes seeing my Grandma's dog, Sally. If Sally goes away, though, the tears start. Evelyn gets bummed. The first time she saw my Mom's poodle, Teddy, she cried. I guess she didn't like him that day though other days she thought he was pretty funny.

This past week she Skyped with her Auntie Elizabeth and showed her her "cheese" face. She really enjoys doing her "cheese" face. She's also been able to see her Dada on Skype, which has been great.

She learned how to high five, how to clap, blow bubbles in the tub, and climb the stairs. Sometimes we play ball on the floor and she is learning how to roll the ball back to me. She does it pretty good, to be honest. I'm not sure how well a now-10-month-old is supposed to roll a ball but I think she does a great job.

Hm, what else. Oh - her hair continues to grow in! That's very exciting for me. Perhaps by winter I'll be able to put a barrette in it. it is so cute to see it blowing in the wind.

She was cruising along furniture before but in the past month she's really upped her speed. She can pull up on something without having much of a grip and then cruise along it.

She's sleeping in her crib at night and usually wakes at least once, between 3-5am. She will sometimes wake between 10pm-12am but will only fuss for a few minutes before she falls back asleep. She likes to feed herself whatever I'm eating but has found real joy in dropping things off the edge of her tray. I'm not sure if that means she's done or if she just likes to do it. She's still nursing.

We're working on getting her to nap in her crib though this weekend I have resorted to laying with her in my bed. I was going nuts with no naps, it was really doing a number on my sanity. She'd show signs of being sleepy so I'd bring her upstairs and she'd just cry, cry, cry. Try a different approach by nursing her in the rocking chair, then lay her down and BAM! Cry, cry, cry. It is a work in progress.
She is such a sweetheart and has become quite the lovebug within the past few months. I honestly think it makes her happy to make me smile. She's the apple of our eye and I am so thankful I am able to stay home and watch her learn & grow.

Now that I've gotten teary-eyed and feel sappy, I'll end this. She's such a little individual, we love her so much.
