Jumperoo: great place to nap.

During Dan's second to last weekend home before leaving for more work ups, Evelyn decided she wanted to be up before 5am. He's accustomed to being wide awake by 5am so he brought her downstairs.

I came downstairs too for a brief amount of time to let Toby out and grab some breakfast. He asked if I could turn Elmo on. I was a bit baffled but wasn't going to argue with him since it was before 5am and he was the one staying awake with her. I set her up a little bed with her sippy cup near and an Xbox controller to play with and turned "The Best of Elmo 2" on. And then snapped a few pictures, of course.

Later on, she was fed up with Elmo and his singing guests and was ready for something new. Dan put her in her jumperoo, went off to do something for a few minutes, and when he came back, this is what he saw...

It doesn't look comfortable to me but evidently it was comfortable enough to nap in for 40-45 minutes. This was the first time she had ever fallen asleep during an activity; previously she's only fallen asleep in the car and stroller, if we're wearing her, or if she's nursing. First time for everything, right?

  1. This is precious! Brees is so all over the place, I have yet to see this happen, but the babysitter said she fell asleep in her high chair once. I love your tatami mats, I miss those so much!

  2. Olivia - Thanks! :) My Mom said that I had fallen asleep in my high chair at least once so I was strangely looking forward to the day she'd fall asleep somewhere unusual.

I love our tatami mats, too. We need to get a large rug for it, though...I'm worried about damaging them since it is such a high traffic area.
