Sand eater.

Today the three of us decided to venture to the beach while my Mom stayed back and relaxed. I wore a shirt and shorts, thinking we'd just sit on the dry sand once we arrived...nope.

After going to the BX for lunch (Subway for the adults, banana flavored puffs for the puff monster) we went to the beach by American Village. The tide was out so we all walked out quite a ways to get our toes in the water. Once we got there, I decided to rake Schmoop's shorts off.

It was like a ginormous bathtub to her; she absolutely loved it. It was the first time she has had more than just her feet in the water. I plopped her little tush right in the sand and immediately she stuck her hands under the water to check on the sand.

A few handfuls made it into her mouth, I won't lie. She's a quick little squirrely girl but we got faster at grabbing her hand before she got it up to her mouth. I should've brought my camera but didn't. Believe me when I say it was c-u-t-e.

On another watery note, our little water baby is signed up for swim lessons! It is a two week course, M-F, beginning on July 5th. When I registered online they had you pick three options and I got stuck with my third option. That's okay, I was just hoping the first session would be open so Dan could take her once or twice.

Last night after making some delicious tacos, we loaded up in the Honda and drove to American Village. We were intending on walking by the seawall but instead just made a big loop around all the shops. I really enjoyed our time together and I think everyone else did, too.

Tonight we rented a couple movies after the beach, picked up a pizza, and relaxed at home. We watched "The Other Guys" (hilarious) and then put Ev to bed. Dan read from her bedtime book while she had her before bedtime snack and then we left her snoozing...in her crib. Woohoo, family accomplishment.

We have a new, perhaps unconventional way of getting her to sleep but I'll have to share it another time. It isn't unsafe -- it is actually rather funny, so be sure to check back for the story.

Have a great weekend!

  2. Ebeth - It adds a little roughage / fiber to her mostly liquid diet. ;)
