Yes, he's finally back! It has only been about six weeks but we assumed he'd only be gone about four. He got stuck in port once because the boat crew didn't want to get stuck in port in Okinawa, then they extended their stay again due to the typhoon.
We went and got him last night. Evelyn napped the whole way from home to there. When she woke up, she was a tad hungry but wasn't fussy afterward. I think she was just enjoying hearing his voice.
We got home and he unloaded all his gear from the car then hung some of it out to dry. Everything was soaked. He had some spaghetti olé, did laundry, and did the dishes. All the while I was upstairs putting Schmoopy to sleep.
Once she was finally asleep Dan showered me with some presents he got for me while in Tokyo. It was totally unwarranted but such a nice surprise. To be honest it wasn't a complete surprise because he told me he had got me a couple things. We're alike in that way -- hard to keep exciting surprises a surprise. The only difference is that I usually blab what the actual surprise is.
He got me a tshirt from the Hard Rock in Tokyo, a beautiful lariat necklace, and an amazing perfume by Jeanne Lanvin.
He took our Canon Powershot with him and took quite a few pictures (at my request). I'll try to get those up in a timely fashion. Until next time, sayonara.
