Earlier this week we gave avocado another try. It didn't go well. She made a face and gagged / choked a couple times so I decided that was that and we were done until another time. I think perhaps the consistency was a bit too thick and / or lumpy.
My stats class is o-v-e-r. Two semesters worth of that class was two too many but I never have to take another stats class again! Well, until grad school.
It rained most of the week here so we've only been on two walks, one on Thursday and one today. We've spent a lot of time at the BX people watching.
Earlier in the week Evelyn decided she didn't need to take adequate naps during the day and I was at my wits end. On Wednesday she started taking really long naps -- like 2-3 hours worth. I think she must've been making up for the days before.
One night I had got a onesie from one of her drawers upstairs and put it on her after she threw up all over herself (and the bed). It was a bit too big but it did the job as I didn't want to go downstairs and dig around in the dark for a proper fitting one. It was pink and it said, "Divas don't take naps". My Mom & step-dad got it for her on their trip to Graceland last August. I don't think she appreciated being referred to as a diva so that's why she has decided to sleep once again. Ha!
My Mom bought her ticket to Okinawa this week -- yeehaw! She'll leave the States on the 25th of this month.
Yesterday Evelyn tried squash for the first time -- yellow squash to be exact. It was a better experience than the avocado. Today I steamed and pureed three more plus an acorn squash for her.
She doesn't seem to dig the purees as much as anything that I put into my mouth. She especially likes to grab at my drinks. I feel very aware of people watching me when she grabs at my fountain drink at the BX; I'm scared they actually think I let our baby have pop.
That's the most recent developments in our household this week. I'm technically on summer break...until Monday. Then I start cognitive psychology and a science general requirement. The cog psy class is a "Maymester" class; I was in it spring of 2010 but I withdrew from classes because I was so darn sick. Finally a psych class that isn't stats!
Happy weekend!

The diva onesie is hilarious! Brees still doesn't have any hair either and when we are out in public, people often refer to her as "he", even though she is in head to toe pink, ha! Evelyn is such a doll! Have a happy Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteGuacamole girl -- that photo is hysterical! It's awesome that you are introducing all different foods to her. She'll be the best, healthiest eater around as she gets older. Can't wait to take her for sushi and Ethiopian!! As for the soda -- people will think what they will -- you're a great mom and that's all that matters! :)
ReplyDeleteWhen do you study? That's a big project to be a mom and go to school at the same time. Hope you enjoy the new NON-stats classes. As you learn, it would be fun for you to blog some of your class insights!
Hugs to you on your First Mother's Day!
