Japanese Lesson of the Week: Week #9.

Last week we learned how to say yes or "hai". Hai hai hai.

This week we'll learn the yin to yes' yang (Yin/yang is a Chinese concept but I digress..): no. To say no in Japanese, you'd say Iie. I-i-e.

If you remember from one of the first lessons, the letter 'i' is pronounced like 'ee' (as in cheese) and 'a' is pronounced as 'eh' It would sound like 'ee-eh'.

Or better yet, here's a sound clip.

Until next week, sayonara!
