...is two months old today?
That's right, Little Miss Evelyn Elizabeth! She wore the same outfit today that she wore home from the hospital but now the outfit will officially be retired as it is too small. When she came home in it, a newborn size, the outfit itself was too big and now our baby is too big for newborn sizes. 0-3 month clothes exclusively now!
To celebrate we went grocery shopping at the commissary. I kid, I kid - that isn't what we did to celebrate though we did go and get some items. After unloading the groceries (thanks to Dan) and a short milk bar break for Ev we decided to go see some castle ruins near where we BBQed on Saturday.
After walking around the Katsuren Castle ruins we drove to a neighboring island, Ikei Island. We ate at a little cafe and got our first seashells from Okinawa. We also saw Sebastian the crab from The Little Mermaid. I think he was a tad lost as Ariel wasn't from Asia but we didn't tell him that. He might have snapped at us in retort.
Ev's 8 week check up (complete with shots, sadface) will be a smudge delayed; it is scheduled for January 25th. My very-delayed six week postpartum check-up is this Thursday morning.
Tomorrow I will share lots of pictures from our weekend and from our fun day today. I am also going to take her "two month" pictures with a very special teddy bear that my Aunt Bear (Sarah) sent us. The significance of the teddy bear will be shared tomorrow too so be sure to come back!
Ohhh so unbelievable -- the time is going by quickly!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, come to think of it, how'd Dan get to be so old! Just yesterday he was wearing 6 month-sized clothes when he was 3 months old. Chunker! Were you a petite little one, Raechel?
I'm sitting with a space heater at my feet and wondering what the temperature is there. Is Evelyn ready for sundresses? How long do you think she'll be in 3 month sizes....what "season" should the 6-9 month sizes be (hmmm, yes I"m planning here!)
GM,
ReplyDeleteI was a petite baby, yes. :) My Papa and my Dad called me "peanut". I was 6# and some change when I was born.
Today it was warmer than it has been -- according to weather.com it is 64* at around 11:15PM. Last week it was rainy and more cold -- hovering in the 50s, I'd say, with strong winds. Still not as cold as what you're enduring! Brr! I hope the space heater is keeping you warm. :)
This spring and summer will be great times for sundresses. She'll be six months old in May, which is typically the "rainy" season but I imagine when it isn't raining that's when the temp will really start to sky-rocket. So sundress season will be 6-9 months. :)
We love you!
