This morning I went to base with Dan so that I could have the Honda for the day. Evelyn ate at 7am and then slept until 10am -- it was glorious! We then Skyped with my Ma; E was butt naked except for her diaper and getting some time to move around on her back.
Evelyn has been blocked up the past two days, today was the third day. My Grandma suggested to heat up a room, take her clothes off, and let her work it out herself by wiggling around. By golly, it worked! What has Grandma always said to me? Oh yeah: Grandmas know.
The only thing I can describe worrying about Evelyn's bowel movements to is wishing, hoping, praying, and crossing your fingers for a colicky horse to defecate. It is a stressful thing to worry about.
For those of you that cloth diaper, how do you clean your diapers? What cycle(s) do you run and what detergent do you use? How do you get stains out? So far I have rinsed this one in a cold cycle and have it going through a full cycle with some of our adult clothes now for extra measure. Tonight I will run it in a warm cycle with the rest of the diapers.
Another question for those that CD: how many diapers do you have? We only have seven right now, 1 Flip that is still too big and six one-size BumGenius. Seven isn't enough right now so when we use the BG up we use disposables until the next day.
Enough about #2 and diapers, onto the rest of our day! After we Skyped, Little Miss and I got ready for our lunch date with Krissi. We ate at Chili's and while the company was magnificent the service was lackluster. Our waitress didn't bring Krissi's salad out Before our meal which isn't that big of a deal because Krissi didn't specify before the meal but when she asked, she brought it out hastily and as if she was annoyed she was asked about it. It also had cheese on it when Krissi specifically asked (quite nicely!) for only lettuce, croutons, and carrots. Krissi just picked the cheese off without saying anything.
Maybe I annoyed her with my mass consumption of diet coke and it causing her to refill it three or four times but when it came to pay our bills, she brought Krissi's change back but not mine. My bill was between $9 and $10; I gave her $15. I gave her some time to bring the change to the table, figuring she forgot or had to tend to someone else before she brought it to me. As she walks by I said, "Ma'am, I gave you $15 - can I have my change?"
She brought it to me and must have already thrown the receipt away because she didn't bring me the exact change. She shorted me a few pennies and dimes, I am not sure how much and it wouldn't bother me so much if she wouldn't have been seemingly expecting to keep $5+ as a tip.
I just found it odd and left feeling disturbed by the service. Other than that, we have had a good day -- it was just a little blib in our radar. We went to the Exchange and Krissi held Evelyn while I did my shopping. She got a little playmate with a unicorn on it and I got an eyeliner pencil.
Ooh, she's waking from her catnap now so hopefully I can finish this quick-like. We came home and went on a 1.3mi walk with Mr. Toad. Now we're relaxing; I'm watching episodes of LOST, season 6, and Evelyn is in her bouncer. We are going to read Winnie the Pooh later.
